Who we are

Citiot is an inviting inclusive happy place where you can find something for your everyday needs. A beautiful space where you can find something beautiful, can hang out, work, shop, taste. Local and European. Co-working & coffee-sipping. Fresh buys & vintage finds. Our shop can’t make up its mind and we dig that.

The owner

I grew up in small town in the Netherlands. A town like Catskill in many ways. 12 years ago we got the opportunity to move to the US and we did not think twice. We moved to NYC in 2010 and got a place in Catskill in 2016. Three years ago we became full-timers and have been loving it ever since.

As long as I can remember I wanted to have a store and sell fun things. Create a place of happiness. It always sounded kind of childish and maybe something to fantasize about, not to pursue in real life. But the pandemic made me rethink that idea and I decided to give it a go. And I am very happy I did! For me the store is about people, collaborating and being creative.

Our offering

Café

In our cafe we offer CITIOT roast, an amazing blend (ask Steven how he describes this blend), roasted locally by our partner Brewtus in Delmar, NY.

Besides coffee we offer an array of other delicious drinks, hot and cold. We don’t charge for ice or special milks and you get a discount if you bring your own mug.

Pantry

We offer a varied assortment of goodies for your every-day needs. From pasta to peanutbutter, from chocolate to capers, from sardines to spices. Always with a focus on quality deliciousness. We are constantly expanding and changing our assortment to better serve our local customer. How nice is it to just walk to your local store rather than having to drive to a supermarket?

Gallery

The Gallery at Citiot offers a diverse programming throughout the year, mostly focusing on local artists. Expositions generally run for a month, but we do pop-ups in between as well. Are you an artist and interested in showing in our space, please let us know.

Retail Shop

In our store we sell our Citiot staples that will always be restocked but we also love to mix in products with limited availability. This way a visit to our store is always a new discovery.

From candles to crewnecks, from kimonos to capers, and anything in between. We serve you for your everyday needs and when you’re looking for an original gift.

Give Back

The local community is super important to Citiot. We are involved in a variety of organizations and initiatives that help promote and improve the general well-being of Catskill residents and the people that come visit us. We contribute to the local community and support specific local organizations in order to build stronger relationships and create a sense of belonging and togetherness.
